Online sports dietitian for climbers, runners and footballers in Sheffield
Sports nutrition for climbers, fell runners, footballers and student-athletes in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, delivered by video call around the wall, the moors and the working week.
Grit, hills and a football heritage
Sheffield has a sporting identity all of its own. Football has roots here that reach back to the early days of the organised game, and it is still played on pitches across the city every weekend. To the west, the Peak District draws climbers to the gritstone edges and runners onto the moors, while indoor walls and bouldering centres keep people training through the winter.
Those sports pull nutrition in different directions. Climbing can bring pressure to stay light for hard routes, fell races demand long efforts over rough ground, and football asks for repeated sprints across a full season. We look at what your sport really requires, then help you eat in a way that supports training now and your health for years to come.
We work online only, so you can talk to us from home, work or a student house without crossing the city. Each appointment is a secure video call, and follow-ups let us reshape the plan when a winter of indoor bouldering gives way to a summer of routes, races or fixtures.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Sheffield clinic I can visit?
There is not. Nutrition & Co runs every consultation by secure video call, so where you live in Sheffield or South Yorkshire makes no difference to the care you receive. All you need is a quiet space and a stable connection.
I climb and want a better power-to-weight ratio. Can you help?
We are happy to talk about performance goals, but we will not put you on a restrictive diet to chase a lighter body. Under-eating is common in climbing and can affect strength, recovery, bones and hormones, so we focus on fuelling the training that builds power. If eating feels hard to manage, one of our RED-S or eating disorder specialists can support you.
What should I carry on a long fell run?
That depends on the distance, terrain, weather and what your stomach tolerates. We help you choose portable foods and fluids, decide when to take them and try the plan on training runs before you race.
Can you support footballers who also work full time?
Yes. We build meals and snacks around your shifts, training nights and kick-off times, so food preparation stays realistic and recovery between games does not get missed.
Can I use private medical insurance?
Dietetic sessions may be covered if your policy includes them. We accept Bupa UK, AXA, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Healix and Cigna UK, with pre-authorisation from your insurer, so it is worth checking your cover first.
