Sports nutrition online for Newcastle and North East athletes
Evidence-based fuelling for footballers, rugby players and runners across Newcastle, Tyneside and the wider North East, with every session held online by secure video call.
Football, rugby and big race days
Sport in Newcastle is woven into everyday life. Football is followed passionately and played everywhere from school fields to competitive adult leagues, and rugby union has a committed club scene. The region is also home to the Great North Run, a mass-participation half marathon that draws huge numbers of runners each year, many of them taking on the distance for the first time.
That mix means people come to us from very different starting points. A first-time half marathon runner needs a straightforward plan for longer runs and race morning, while a rugby player may be trying to build size without losing fitness. Our HCPC-registered dietitians and our Sports & Performance Nutritionist tailor advice to the sport, the person and the season ahead.
We have no premises in Newcastle or anywhere else: every consultation happens online. There are no trips across the Tyne for appointments, and sessions slot in around shifts, training nights and family life. Follow-ups give us time to update the plan as your mileage builds or the fixture list fills up.
How we can help
Practical support for team sport players, runners and active adults in the North East.
Your first half marathon
A simple, step-by-step approach to fuelling longer training runs, eating before the race and deciding what to take on the course.
- Practising fuel on long runs
- Race-week and race-morning eating
- Reducing the risk of stomach problems
Football fitness and recovery
Support for players who want more energy late in games, quicker recovery between fixtures and a realistic way to eat around work.
Rugby size and strength
Gradual, evidence-based approaches to muscle gain and power for forwards and backs, with fuelling for collision-heavy training.
Gym and body composition
Strength or body shape goals approached without crash dieting, so you still have the energy to train hard.
RED-S and low energy
If you are tired all the time, picking up injuries or noticing changes to your periods, our RED-S specialists can assess whether under-fuelling is involved.
IBS, eating concerns and more
Our clinical services, including IBS and gut health support and care for eating disorders and disordered eating, are also available online.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see you face to face in Newcastle?
No, we are an online clinic. Sessions are held by secure video, so clients across Newcastle and the North East book and attend from wherever suits them.
I have never run a half marathon. When should I get nutrition support?
Ideally a few months before race day, as your long runs start to build, so there is time to try foods and drinks in training. Even a few weeks out, we can help you put together a simple race-week and race-morning plan.
Will you help me get ready for the Great North Run?
We can help you fuel for any half marathon, including large mass-participation races like the Great North Run. We are not connected with the event itself, but we can plan your training fuel, your race-day breakfast and what to take on the course.
Who will I see for a football or rugby question?
Performance questions are often a good fit for Tom Hill, our SENr-registered Sports & Performance Nutritionist. Tom is not a dietitian, so if a medical condition, signs of RED-S or eating concerns are part of the picture, you will be matched with one of our dietitians or our Eating Disorder Nutrition Specialist.
How much does it cost?
A 60-minute initial consultation is £159 and 45-minute follow-ups are £89. If you want regular check-ins across a season or training block, we also offer follow-up packages.
