Online sports dietitian for student and pathway athletes in Loughborough
Specialist online sports nutrition for the many student, scholarship and pathway athletes training in Loughborough, built around performance programmes, study and life away from home.
A town where sport comes first
Few UK towns are as closely linked with sport as Loughborough. Its university has a strong sporting reputation, and the town is full of athletes: students on performance programmes, scholarship athletes, pathway athletes moving between junior and senior levels, and sport science students who train as hard as they study. For many, it is also the first time living away from home and cooking for themselves.
That stage of an athletic career brings particular pressures: higher training loads, competition travel, tight budgets and conflicting advice from social media and teammates. Tom Hill has worked with TASS and university scholarship athletes, and Jenaed Ruddock, our founder, leads sports dietetics for Imperial College London and Cambridge University. We are independent and not part of any university or national programme.
All sessions are online, so you can join from halls, a shared house or a training camp. We adjust your plan through competition phases, injury rehabilitation or a step up to a new level.
How we can help
Support for athletes building a performance career alongside a degree.
Fuelling a performance programme
Matching food to heavy and variable training weeks, including strength work, conditioning and competition blocks.
- Carbohydrate matched to training load
- Recovery between sessions
- Competition and travel days
Cooking for yourself for the first time
Simple shopping, batch cooking ideas and budget-friendly meals that work in halls and shared houses.
Supplements and anti-doping awareness
Evidence-based advice on whether a supplement is worthwhile, and why tested products matter for athletes subject to anti-doping rules.
Nutrition while injured
Support during time out injured, so reduced training does not turn into under-eating while your body recovers.
RED-S in high-training environments
Our RED-S specialists support athletes with possible warning signs, such as ongoing fatigue, bone stress injuries or menstrual changes, and advise on medical referral where appropriate.
Clinical care when you need it
If you need help with IBS, an eating disorder or disordered eating, the right specialist on our team can see you online.

Frequently asked questions
Are you linked to the university or a national governing body?
No. Nutrition & Co is an independent online clinic. Any adult athlete can book a private consultation, and our advice can sit alongside the support you already receive from your programme.
Can I book an appointment in Loughborough?
You can book from Loughborough, but the appointment itself is online. We do not run in-person sessions anywhere, so the session happens by secure video from your room, home or training base.
Should I be taking supplements?
Not necessarily. Food comes first, and many supplements have little evidence behind them. Where one may help, we explain the evidence and why choosing batch-tested products matters if you compete under anti-doping rules.
I am about to step up to senior level. Does my nutrition need to change?
Often it does, because training volume, intensity and travel usually increase. We compare your current eating with the new demands and plan changes gradually, so your energy keeps pace with training.
How much do sessions cost?
An initial 60-minute consultation is £159 and each 45-minute follow-up is £89. Follow-up packages suit athletes who want structured support across a season, and UK private medical insurance may be used depending on your policy.
