Online sports nutrition support for athletes in Edinburgh
Evidence-based sports nutrition from HCPC-registered dietitians, delivered online for rugby players, runners, cyclists and student-athletes across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Fuelling for Edinburgh's hills and pitches
Edinburgh is a city built on slopes, and plenty of people train on them: hill reps before breakfast, trail runs in the nearby Pentlands, long rides out into East Lothian and rugby sessions on wet winter evenings. Each of these places different demands on your energy, recovery and hydration, and a generic plan rarely accounts for them.
Our dietitians and sports nutrition practitioners start with what your training actually looks like. We review your sessions, competition calendar, health history and eating pattern, then build practical strategies for training days, rest days and match or race days that suit your sport and your appetite.
Every appointment takes place online by secure video call, so you can join from home, your office or your student flat without crossing town in the rain. Follow-up sessions give us the chance to adjust your plan as the season moves from pre-season to competition, or as work and study get busier.

Frequently asked questions
Do you see clients in person in Edinburgh?
No. All our consultations are online by secure video call, so you can work with us from anywhere in Edinburgh, the Lothians or the rest of Scotland. You get the same specialist assessment and follow-up as any of our clients across the UK.
I play rugby and want to add muscle. Where do I start?
Yes. We look at your position, training load and current intake, then plan protein, carbohydrate and meal timing to support muscle gain and recovery. The aim is to build strength while keeping you fuelled for speed and repeated efforts.
How should I fuel for hill and trail races?
Climbing and long descents use a lot of energy and can make eating on the move harder. We help you plan what to eat and drink before and during races, and practise it in training so you know what your gut tolerates.
Should I think about vitamin D during Scottish winters?
Shorter days mean less sunlight for much of the year, which affects vitamin D. We review your diet and circumstances and talk through whether a supplement may be appropriate, in line with UK public health guidance.
Is private medical insurance accepted?
Yes, subject to your policy and pre-authorisation. We work with Bupa UK, AXA, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Healix and Cigna UK, and recommend checking your level of cover with your insurer first.
