Online sports dietitian for athletes in Belfast and Northern Ireland
Award-winning, evidence-based sports nutrition for GAA, rugby and football players and endurance athletes across Belfast and Northern Ireland, delivered online.
Sports nutrition for Northern Ireland athletes
Northern Ireland has a deep sporting culture. Gaelic football, hurling and camogie sit alongside rugby and football, while running, cycling, triathlon and open-water swimming have grown along the coast and through the countryside. Many athletes play more than one sport, often across overlapping seasons, which makes fuelling and recovery harder to get right.
Our founder, Jenaed Ruddock, has worked in NHS dietetics in Northern Ireland, including at the Ulster Hospital, as well as in university and elite sport. In 2026, Nutrition & Co was named Best Sports Nutrition Coaching Service – Northern Ireland at the Business Elite Awards.
Every consultation is online by secure video call, so athletes in Belfast, in towns and rural areas across Northern Ireland, or away at university can all access the same specialist support without travelling. We plan around your fixtures, training nights and work, then review and adapt the plan as the season unfolds.
How we can help
Specialist support for club, county, provincial-pathway and recreational athletes.
GAA nutrition
Fuelling and recovery for the high-intensity running, contact and long seasons of Gaelic football, hurling and camogie.
- Training-night and match-day meals
- Recovery between club and county commitments
- Hydration across a full game
Rugby and football
Position-specific fuelling, recovery and strength support for players at every level, from youth pathways to senior teams.
Playing more than one sport
A joined-up plan for athletes juggling overlapping seasons, so total training load is matched with enough energy and recovery.
RED-S and under-fuelling
Specialist assessment for athletes showing signs such as ongoing fatigue, disrupted periods, recurrent injury or dropping performance.
Endurance and coastal events
Fuelling for running, cycling, triathlon and open-water events, including cold-water and changeable-weather conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Can I visit you in Belfast?
No. Nutrition & Co is an online practice and does not offer in-person appointments. All consultations are by secure video call, so you can work with us from anywhere in Northern Ireland.
Do you understand the demands of GAA?
Yes. We plan around the repeated sprints, contact and long seasons of Gaelic games, as well as the overlap between club and county commitments. Your plan is built around your own training nights and fixtures.
I play two sports. How do I fuel for both?
We look at your combined weekly load, not each sport in isolation. That helps us match your energy and recovery to the total demand and spot early signs of under-fuelling.
Is private health insurance accepted in Northern Ireland?
Yes. UK policies from Bupa UK, AXA, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Healix and Cigna UK can be used, subject to your policy and pre-authorisation. Your provider can tell you what dietetic cover you have.
Who regulates your dietitians?
Our dietitians are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the UK regulator, and our sports nutritionist is SENR-registered. 'Dietitian' is a protected title in the UK, including in Northern Ireland.
